Another beautiful walk up our bike path today. Things are changing, new wildflowers in bloom. Dave, Fenway and I walk slowly and look and listen. We've got lavender bee balm blooming now.....and lots of Queen Anne's Lace.....
along with others I can't recall. Butterflies and bees are everywhere!
And then Dave stops as he catches a glimpse of Bambi, once again watching from just off the path. Surrounded by green, but its spots still sweet evidence that this is a fawn born this spring.
And then there is the other side of all this newness.....the end part. Earlier in the spring I noticed that a dead doe was lying right along the side of the creek. I don't know what happened, but there she was.....on the bank at the edge of the water. Sprawled out in her final resting place. I would look at her as we walked by and notice the changes week to week. Today Dave brought his long lense and took a shot.....this is all that's left. She's merging back with the earth.....ashes to ashes.....
....I'll continue to watch until she is dust......
