OK...I admit it. I am not a fan of our current President....I think he will go down in history as the worst leader in America's history. I think he is unqualified and inept. But when I heard that George Stephanopolis was hosting a 90 minute program where undecided voters would get to ask 45 their questions I decided to tune in. Dave left the room but I sat and did some hand stitching on a quilt binding and listened. I didn't spend much time actually looking at the TV because, just frankly, I can't stand to look at the man....but I listened.
I heard one citizen after another ask specific questions....about COVID, about the economy, about systemic racism in America, about health care and pre-existing conditions. I listened to very specific questions and then listened to 45 ramble....and ramble...and justify....and talk about how great he did in his first term. And he'd mention his opponent as often as possible....putting Biden in an unflattering light while non-answering the question in play. I listened as the moderator, an experienced newscaster, tried to clarify 45's answers or actually get him back on track....to no avail.
But I admit I can't stand the man....so I have a bias. And tonight's 90 minute "performance" did nothing to make me feel any differently.
I come away from the evening with the intent of emailing Good Morning America tomorrow to ask that ABC host another evening with 90 minutes of content....undecided voters asking 45's main opponent questions so that he gets equal air time.
Sorry but I can't help but think that Joe Biden's answers would at least be more reflective of the actual question being asked. And I can't wait to wake up tomorrow to hear the spin on tonight's program......
