January 21, 2021.
It's probably no surprise to my few followers but I am SO relieved to have watched Biden take the oath and know that he now occupies the Oval Office as our new President. I watched most of the coverage yesterday and found that as the guests gathered on the steps outside the Capital and the dignitaries took seats my muscles would tense up. I just kept thinking "Please don't let anything tragic happen." I would purposely take a deep breath and relax only to find I was all tensed up again 30 minutes later. During the swearing in, during Biden's address to the Nation....as he and his new VP went to Arlington Cemetary....as he and his family walked a few blocks on the semi-parade into the White House grounds. I was thinking ...."Please...please....please."
Happily inauguration day went very smoothly and I thought, even the scaled down version, was a testament to America and to the peaceful transition of power. I wish our new President only the best for his four year term and I hope he can accomplish even half of what he would like to bring to the table for our Country.
Watching the TV coverage of President and First Lady entering the Capital I saw, once again a picture of the broken glass in one of the doors of this historic and important building.
