Oft quoted from the Constitution's Bill of Rights: "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." (1789)
In 1791, common guns included muskets and flintlock pistols. According to the Washington Post, a "Typical Revolutionary-era musket" had a one-round magazine capacity, and it could fire around three effective rounds per minute – in the hands of the most skilled wielder.

That's the end of my attempt to get my thoughts on paper. I sit down, day after day and think about our America and what has been happening over and over and over. Uvalde was the most current mass-scale-school-horror but there have been other mass shootings (defined by four people or more victims....I guess if there are "only" three that doesn't count) in the days since.
I have no words that haven't already been written, spoken or shouted. I've called my Wisconsin representatives but have no faith that those on the GOP side will do anything to help mitigate the on-going drum beat of gun deaths in America.
America leads the world in death-by-gun... our Founding Fathers didn't have a crystal ball. For them a well regulated militia would be carrying weapons like the one pictured at the top of this picture.....not the one on bottom.
It’s so sad Linn. I don’t understand where people lost compassion for their fellow man. I thought that the hearings last night were well done and not surprising I heard it said in rebuttal that Democrats were just bringing up something that should be laid to rest. So sad. AR-15 need to go! Perhaps it is time show photos of the dead 4th graders at Uvalde!
